Top Ten Tuesday

mini-reviews-2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It’s a free topic this week so I decided to list some of the diverse reads that I’m looking forward to reading this year. One of my goals for 2017 is to read more diversely. Out of the 118 books I read last year, only 26 featured diversity, which just isn’t enough. I need to do a lot better! I am going to do better!

Which diverse books are you looking forward to?

  1. Ibi Zoboi is coming to my town in two weeks and I am DESPERATE to meet her. I am so, so beyond excited for the release of American Street. It’s one of my most anticipated books for this year. Almost all of these are on my most-anticipated list as a matter of fact – great choices for this week’s freebie!

  2. Great topic for this week Jacquie, and great picks as well. It’s my aim to read more diversely this year as well (I’m not sure how many diverse books I read last year but I know it wasn’t many). I have a few of these on my to-read list already, Empress of a Thousand Skies, Flame in the Mist and You’re Welcome Universe, but I will have to check out some of these others soon as well. I need more diverse books to add to my to-read list! 😀

  3. Oo, I haven’t heard about almost half of these. I’ll go look them up now. I’m so excited for “When Dimple Met Rishi”! I heard it’s almost like a Bollywood romantic comedy and I’m a complete sucker for those. I’m also super excited for “The Hate U Give”, I’ve heard lots of good things about it.
