Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week I’m waiting on Poison’s Kiss by Breeana Shields. The story is based on Indian folklore and sounds really interesting. I love books with female assassin’s so I was automatically drawn to it.
I’m not sure how I feel about the cover through. It’s kind of lacklustre. Something more could have been done with it. I don’t know. It just doesn’t stand out, especially among the other 2017 debuts.
Still, I won’t let that take away from how I’m so looking forward to this book in January! 🙂
I have this feeling that 2017 is going to be another big year for YA fantasy! YESSS!!!
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
Marinda has kissed dozens of boys. They all die afterward. It s a miserable life, but being a visha kanya a poison maiden is what she was created to do. Marinda serves the Raja by dispatching his enemies with only her lips as a weapon.
Until now, the men she was ordered to kiss have been strangers, enemies of the kingdom. Then she receives orders to kiss Deven, a boy she knows too well to be convinced he needs to die. She begins to question who she s really working for. And that is a thread that, once pulled, will unravel more than she can afford to lose.
