Waiting on Wednesday

fffff.001

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

30258320This week I am waiting on Gilded Cage by Vic James.

1. The cover is amazing! Simplistic but kind of erie with the gate tops and birds. LOVE! ❤

2. Magic, power, class struggle. It’s all very Red Queen which can only be a good thing. I really enjoyed the Red Queen…just not Glass Sword. So, we’ll just forget about that.

3. Reviews so far have been pretty positive. They all go on about the feels and the ending. I’m totally intrigued!!

4. I’ve seen it compared to Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha series. And we all know how much I love me some Bardugo sooooo…. *squeals*

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

Our world belongs to the Equals aristocrats with magical gifts and all commoners must serve them for ten years. But behind the gates of England’s grandest estate lies a power that could break the world.

A girl thirsts for love and knowledge.

Abi is a servant to England’s most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of their noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family s secrets might win her liberty but will her heart pay the price?

A boy dreams of revolution.

Abi’s brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution.

And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts.

He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate or destroy?

  1. This book sounds amazing doesn’t it? I was lucky enough to get an ARC while I was at YALC and I am so excited to get started on it pretty much because of all the reasons you mentioned in your post. Plus the fact that it’s been compared to Leigh Bardugo’s books is an automatic win for me! 😀
Great pick for this week! 🙂
